LA SALLE TURNS BACK ADAMSON IN WOMEN'S VOLLEYBALL

The defending champs De La Salle Lady Spikers recovered from a loss by turning back the Adamson Lady Falcons, 17-25, 25-19, 25-11, 25-22, in the UAAP Season 86 women's volleyball tournament at the Smart Araneta Coliseum on Wednesday, April 17.

Shevana Laput racked up 24 points to lead La Salle which played without reigning Most Valuable Player Angel Canino for the fourth straight game.

Julia Coronel dished out 19 excellent sets as Thea Gagate added 12 points for the Lady Spikers, who raised their win-loss record to a 10-2 with 29 points.

The National University Lady Bulldogs, who defeated the Lady Spikers last Sunday, also carry a 10-2 record but have 30 points to take the lead.

University of Santo Tomas, likewise, has a 10-2 card but are in third place with 28 points.

Jen Villegas collected 16 points for the already-eliminated Adamson which fell to 3-9, good for the sixth spot in the team standings.
