LONGTIME RFM/ SWIFT TEAM MANAGER ELMER YANGA DIES AT AGE 78

FORMER PBA alternate governor and team manager of the RFM franchise Elmer Yanga died on Wednesday due to a lingering illness.

He was 78.

Known as a genial official with a ready smile to everyone, Yanga was part of four PBA championships won by Swift during the franchise’s 12-year stint in the league starting in 1990 when it entered as an expansion team.

The PBA paid tribute to the former league official by sounding off the final buzzer just before the Philippine Cup game between TNT and Converge on Wednesday at the Philsports Arena.
