(UPDATE) THREE-TIME PBA scoring champion Terrence Romeo has signed a new deal with San Miguel Beer.
San Miguel team manager Gee Abanilla confirmed the news with The Manila Times on Wednesday, but declined to divulge the details of the new deal with the sweet-shooting guard out of Far Eastern University.
"He just signed a contract with us," Abanilla said in a short reply to The Times.
Romeo is coming off an injury-plagued 2022-23 PBA season as he hurdled an assortment of injuries ranging from back to shoulder.
The 5-foot-10 Romeo, however, managed to play several games during the PBA On Tour, averaging 21.8 points in 35.3 minutes in four preseason games.
Romeo, a six-time PBA All-Star, has won two PBA titles with the Beermen, while being named the Finals Most Valuable Player in the 2019 Commissioner's Cup title series.
Gilas Pilipinas interim coach Tim Cone took note of Romeo's career resurgence and has included him in the national team that is currently preparing for the 19th Asian Games.
Romeo's status at Gilas though is hanging at the moment pending final decision by the Hangzhou Asian Games Organizing Committee.
