For the second straight major Rory McIlroy's marriage is taking center stage.

Just last month, days ahead of the PGA Championship, McIlroy announced he filed for divorce from his wife Erica. His communications teams confirmed the split on the Tuesday. before the event teed off.

"Rory McIlroy's communications team confirmed today that a divorce has been filed. They stressed Rory's desire to ensure this difficult time is as respectful and amicable as possible. He will not be making any further comment," a statement at the time said.

Now, just days ahead of the U.S. Open, Rory and Erica have reportedly "resolved" their differences and aren't actually getting divorced anymore.

“There have been rumors about my personal life recently, which is unfortunate. Responding to each rumor is a fool’s game," McIlroy said in a statement. "Over the past weeks, Erica and I have realized that our best future was as a family together. Thankfully, we have resolved our differences and look forward to a new beginning.”

While the couple smoothed things out, McIlroy was spotted without a key piece of hardware: his wedding ring. While strolling around the course on Wednesday, the star golfer was notably missing a piece of jewelry on his ring finger.

McIlroy tees off at the U.S. Open alongside Scottie Scheffler and Xander Schauffele at 1:14 p.m. ET.
