BROWNLEE, PELITA JAYA BEAT KOREA SIDE, BUT MISS SEMIS SPOT IN TIEBREAK

JUSTIN Brownlee and Pelita Jaya closed out the group stage with a 98-91 win over KCC Egis Basketball Club on Wednesday, but missed out on a semifinal spot in the Basketball Champions League Asia in a tiebreak.

Pelita Jaya ended up tied with Japan B.League champion Hiroshima Dragonflies and Iran's Shahrdary Gorgan at 2-1 at the end of Group A play but lost out on the two semis spots on offer when the tiebreak came into play.

Gorgan claims top seed

Gorgan, which lost to Pelita Jaya, 97-90, on Tuesday, beat Hiroshima, 94-81, on Tuesday to clinch the Group A top seed while the Dragonflies took the second semifinal spot in a tiebreak - thanks to its 86-69 win over Pelita Jaya on opening day. 

Brownlee finished with 21 points, 13 rebounds and five assists against the Korean side. His import partner James Dickey had a 26-point, 26-rebound double double while Andakara Prastawa Dhyaksa added 19 points.
