EALA IN OFFICIAL WIMBLEDON ENTRY LIST

(UPDATE) ALEX Eala of the Philippines is set for her second professional Grand Slam tournament and major debut on the grass court.

Eala, 20, has been officially included on the entry list of 2025 Wimbledon Championships in London from June 30 to July 13.

The final tournament draws will be confirmed three days before the competition.

Ranked 77th in the WTA rankings, Eala is listed 72nd in the Wimbledon rankings led by World No. 1 Aryna Sabalenka of Belarus.

World No. 2 Coco Gauff and No. 3 Jessica Pegula of the United States, No. 5 Jasmine Paolini and No. 8 Iga Swiatek round out the top five players in the tournament rankings.

As final preparation for the tournament, Eala, who made her Grand Slam debut at the Roland Garros on May 25, was set to compete at the Eastbourne Open in England.

Eala was scheduled to face Zeynep Sonmez of Turkey in the first of a two-round qualifier on Saturday evening in Manila.

The lefty Eala last saw action at the Nottingham Open, where she bowed to Polish Magda Linette, 3-6, 3-6, in the round of 32.

Eala topped French Varvara Gracheva, 6-3, 3-6, 6-3, in the first round of the Nottingham qualifiers, and Romanian Anca Todoni in the final round, 6-3, 6-7(4), 6-3, to advance to the main draw.

Prior to the Nottingham Open, Eala also competed at the Ilkley Open, where she exited in the quarterfinals after losing to Rebecca Marino of Canada, 6-1, 0-6, 6-7(4).
